🧭 Getting Around

Majestic (Kempegowda Hub)

KSRTC/BMTC bus stand · KSR railway · Metro interchange

Majestic is the city's central transit hub: the Kempegowda Bus Station (BMTC city + KSRTC intercity), the KSR Bengaluru City Junction railway station right across the road, and the underground Nadaprabhu Kempegowda metro interchange (Purple + Green lines) below.

🛺 Autos & taxis

Auto or taxi from Majestic?

There's a prepaid auto counter (around ₹60 base from the station) — use it. App autos/cabs (Ola, Uber, Namma Yatri) also work. This is a heavy-touting area: insist on the meter or a prepaid slip and refuse lump-sum quotes.

Are the auto fares fixed?

Autos must run by meter (₹30 for 2 km, ₹15/km after; 1.5× at night). Use the Fair Fares calculator to know the right amount before you agree.

🚌 Buses & KSRTC booking

Which buses run from here?

BMTC city buses and KSRTC/intercity & interstate services depart from the Kempegowda Bus Station (KBS). Intercity bays are separate from BMTC city bays — check your ticket's platform/bay number or ask at enquiry.

How do I book a KSRTC / intercity bus?

Book on the official KSRTC site (ksrtc.in) or the KSRTC app, or via aggregators like redBus, Abhibus or Paytm. Carry the e-ticket; reach the correct bay 15–20 min early — KBS is large and crowded.

Going to the airport from here?

Vayu Vajra AC airport buses (KIA routes) start from Majestic — a cheap, direct way to BLR Airport.

🚇 Metro & train

How does the metro interchange work?

Nadaprabhu Kempegowda (Majestic) is an underground interchange between the Purple Line (east–west) and Green Line (north–south). Gate A1 leads to the railway station; Gates A and D connect to the KSRTC and BMTC bus stands (all wheelchair accessible).

Where's the railway station?

KSR Bengaluru City Junction (station code SBC) is directly across the road from the bus stand — a few minutes' walk. But note: many 'Bangalore' trains actually start from Yeshwantpur or SMVT — check your ticket. See the Railways hub.

🅿️ Parking & luggage

Parking rates?

Metro parking: two-wheelers ₹15 for the first 4 hours then ₹5/extra hour; cars ₹30 for the first 4 hours then ₹10/extra hour (limited spaces — ~260 bikes, ~36 cars). The bus station also has 24/7 parking.

Cloakroom and porters?

The railway station has a cloakroom / left-luggage facility and licensed porters (coolies). Porter rates are regulated but agree the amount before handing over bags.
