Change your address on Aadhaar
Update the address on your Aadhaar online via the UIDAI portal using a valid proof of address — usually free if you use a supported document.

Shift your voter registration to your new address using Form 8 on the Voters' Service Portal — free of cost.

Add a new property to property tax (SAS) & get your papers
Just bought or built a property? Get it onto the BBMP tax rolls under the Self-Assessment Scheme (SAS), generate your PID/application number, pay the first tax, and collect the papers (tax-paid receipt, khata) you'll need later.
Register for GST in Karnataka
Register your business for GST online on the national portal — needed once turnover crosses the threshold (₹40 lakh goods / ₹20 lakh services), or voluntarily. Karnataka jurisdiction is handled by the Commercial Taxes Dept.
Get, recharge & manage your FASTag
FASTag is mandatory for toll payment. Buy one from an issuer bank or app, complete KYC, affix it on your windshield, and recharge — one tag per vehicle. An optional annual pass exists for private vehicles on national highways.
Yellow Fever vaccination in Bengaluru (Kenya & Africa travel)
Travelling to Kenya or other yellow-fever-risk countries? You need a Yellow Fever vaccine and the international 'Yellow Card' certificate (ICVP) — given only at government-authorized centres. In Bengaluru that's the Public Health Institute. Get it at least 10 days before you travel.
Register your marriage in Karnataka (Kaveri)
Register your marriage and get the official certificate via the Kaveri (2.0) online portal — book a Sub-Registrar appointment, upload documents, appear with two witnesses, and download the digitally-signed certificate.
Shop & Establishment registration (e-Karmika)
Any shop or commercial establishment in Karnataka must register under the Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1961 via e-Karmika — usually within 30 days of starting. Valid 5 years.
Register your pet dog (BBMP licence)
Pet dog registration is mandatory in Bengaluru. It's a low-cost annual licence tied to anti-rabies vaccination — and free for indigenous and rescued dogs.
Legal Heir Certificate (after a death)
After a family member's death, a Legal Heir Certificate identifies the rightful heirs — needed for pension, gratuity, PF, insurance and some transfers. Apply via Nadakacheri. (Banks/securities may instead need a court Succession Certificate.)
Register a rent / lease agreement (e-stamp)
Rent agreements of 12 months or more should be registered (on e-stamp paper) to be fully enforceable. Shorter ≤11-month agreements are commonly notarized — but a registered agreement protects you better.
