Change your address on Aadhaar

Update the address on your Aadhaar online via the UIDAI portal using a valid proof of address — usually free if you use a supported document.

Steps

  1. 1

    Open myAadhaar

    Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and log in with your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile.

    Choose 'Update Aadhaar'

    Select Address from the list of updatable fields. Verify your identity with the OTP.

  3. 3

    Enter the new address

    Type the new address exactly as it appears on your proof document, including PIN code.

    Upload proof

    Upload a clear scan of your Proof of Address. Make sure the name matches your Aadhaar.

  5. 5

    Pay & submit

    Pay the ₹50 fee online and submit. Note the URN (Update Request Number) to track status.

  6. 6

    Track status

    Use 'Check Update Status' with your URN. Download the updated e-Aadhaar once approved.

💡 Good to know

  • No PoA in your name? Use the 'Head of Family' address-update flow with a relationship proof.
  • Keep the new address identical across documents to avoid future mismatches.
