Change address on Driving Licence / RC

Update your address on a Driving Licence or vehicle Registration Certificate through the Parivahan Sarathi/Vahan portals.

Steps

  1. 1

    Open Parivahan

    For DL go to Sarathi (sarathi.parivahan.gov.in); for RC use Vahan (vahan.parivahan.gov.in).

    Select address change

    Choose 'Change of Address' under DL services or RC services and enter your details.

  3. 3

    Upload documents

    Upload the address proof and any required forms; verify with Aadhaar OTP if available.

  4. 4

    Pay fees online

    Pay the applicable fee and book an RTO slot if a visit is required.

  5. 5

    Visit RTO (if needed)

    Carry originals to the jurisdictional RTO for verification and biometrics if asked.

  6. 6

    Receive updated card

    The updated smart-card DL/RC is dispatched to your new address by post.
