Renew a Karnataka driving licence online via Parivahan Sarathi before it expires — a medical certificate is needed once you're 40+.

Steps

Open Sarathi
Go to sarathi.parivahan.gov.in, select Karnataka, and choose 'Apply for DL Renewal'.

Fill Form 9
Enter your DL number and details; the renewal form (Form 9) is generated.

Upload documents
Attach the medical certificate (Form 1A) if you're 40+, plus ID/address proof and photo.

Pay the fee
Pay online and, if required, book an RTO appointment slot.

RTO visit / biometrics
Visit the jurisdictional RTO if asked, for verification and biometrics.

Get the smart-card
The renewed DL is dispatched by post; an e-copy is available on DigiLocker / mParivahan.
💡 Good to know
- Renew within the 1-year grace period — after that you may have to re-take the driving test.
- Carry the original DL and self-attested copies to the RTO.
