Steps

Get the application form
Download the 'Name Change / Transfer of installation' form from the BESCOM site or collect it at your sub-division office.

Attach documents
Self-attest copies of ownership proof, ID proof and the latest paid bill. Clear all dues first.

Submit to sub-division
Submit at the BESCOM sub-divisional office that serves your RR number, or via the online grievance/service portal.

Pay charges
Pay the name-change/processing fee and any revised security deposit.

Inspection
A section officer may verify the premises and meter details.

Updated bill issued
The next bill is generated in the new name. Keep the acknowledgement until then.

- Always clear pending dues before applying — transfers are blocked otherwise.
- Note your RR (Revenue Register) number from the top of any bill.
