Get, recharge & manage your FASTag

FASTag is mandatory for toll payment. Buy one from an issuer bank or app, complete KYC, affix it on your windshield, and recharge — one tag per vehicle. An optional annual pass exists for private vehicles on national highways.

Steps

  1. 1

    Choose an issuer

Buy via your bank, the 'My FASTag' (NHAI) app, or app wallets (Paytm/PhonePe etc.) — or at toll plazas & select stores.

  2. 2

    Apply with RC + KYC

Enter vehicle details, upload the RC and KYC documents; the tag is mapped to your vehicle number.

  3. 3

    Affix the tag

Stick the FASTag on the inside of the windshield as instructed — a damaged/wrongly placed tag may not scan.

  4. 4

    Recharge

Top up via the issuer app, UPI, net-banking or NETC; balance is debited automatically at toll plazas.

  5. 5

    Manage / close

Track transactions in the app. Selling the vehicle? Close or transfer the tag and clear dues. Keep KYC updated to avoid blacklisting.

💡 Good to know

  • One vehicle = one FASTag. Multiple/duplicate tags can get your tag blacklisted.
  • A FASTag Annual Pass for private vehicles on national highways was introduced (a flat yearly fee for a set number of trips) — check current terms before buying.
  • Low balance or KYC issues cause double-toll deduction at plazas — keep it topped up and KYC-compliant.
