Foreigners staying in India beyond 180 days must register with the FRRO within 14 days of arrival. Registration, visa extension, conversion and exit permits are all done online via e-FRRO — usually without an office visit.

💡 Good to know

  • Register within 14 days of arrival if your visa/stay exceeds 180 days — penalties apply for delay.
  • Your hotel/host must file the C-Form (accommodation report). Keep your RP at all times.
  • Overstayed? Apply for an Exit Permit on e-FRRO before leaving.
