Steps

Register on Passport Seva
Create an account at passportindia.gov.in and select 'Reissue of Passport'.

Fill the application
Choose the reason (validity expiry, pages exhausted, change in particulars) and fill the form.

Pay & book appointment
Pay online and book a slot at your nearest PSK (Bengaluru – Lalbagh Road) or a POPSK at a post office.

Visit the Seva Kendra
Carry originals + copies. Counters do document check, biometrics and photo.

Police verification
Most reissues have post-verification; police visit your address or you visit the station.

Dispatch
The new passport is couriered. Track status via the Passport Seva portal / mPassport Seva app.
💡 Good to know
- Choose Tatkaal if you need it urgently — extra fee, faster processing.
- Apply for reissue up to 1 year before expiry (or any time after). Carry the old passport.
